This is my first post! Also kind of a test run, because I literally set this site up two days ago and I’m still getting used to everything :)

It’s about 11:08 PM right now and I’m pretty tired, but I wanted to do this now before I forgot. I’ve been going in-and-out of flares and crashes recently Because Winter (despite the fact I know it’s coming every year, it still sucks the same every time) so I’ve been quite forgetful, and I’ve been flitting from project to project depending on what I have the brain bandwidth for. Not a great way to complete projects, I think, but it’s all I can do at the minute.

I’ve been getting really into game-adjacent stuff recently! Learned a bit of Godot and I’ve been attempting to make a visual novel in Ren’Py for the Trans Joy Game Jam, but I don’t think I’m gonna make it in time. I like what I have so far, at least visually, so maybe I’ll try to finish it when I’ve got more spoons.

My current project, though, is a Picrew! Here’s a lil sneak peek of what I have so far:

Look, it's a little guy! Fresh from the oven!

I’ve been gradually building up the categories 'cause I don’t want to go overboard, but it’s really fun. What I really like about stuff like this is how easy it is to make something you can actually interact with - like, it might not be good but it’s A Thing You Made and it’s playable, and I think there’s something really cool about that.

The good thing about learning Ren’Py for the jam is that now I just…have that knowledge, and I can use it again whenever I want! I found a really cool template for making chatroom-esque games (sort of like Mystic Messenger), and I’m already having ideas for stuff I could do with that.

For anyone reading who thinks that sort of game is cool too, Secret Little Haven is a very underrated one. I won’t spoil it, but it’s got really cohesive visual design and a wonderful narrative. I’d love to make something like that, but unfortunately I have to NOT BE GOOD first so I can LEARN, which is utterly humiliating.

Alas, it must be so.

Also, I've been looking into getting a powerchair! And by 'looking into', I mean 'I have a demo day booked for a date relatively soon'. I'll probably post an update here on how it goes, because I think it could be helpful for anyone in a similar situation who happens to come across this blog (hiiiiii), but for now I'll just say that I'm...excited? And also nervous, because What If The Guy Who Brings It Isn't Nice and What If I Crash Into A Van. But mostly excited! I think it'd be a really big help in terms of me being independent, and that's important.

but also I WANT TO KEEP MY MONEYYYYYY PLEASE GOD WHY DOES IT COST SO MUCH
